– "Introduction to 3D HD-MEA for 3D Tissue Recording [Cellames]" –

Cellames recently presented 3Brain's HD-MEA and 3D HD-MEA technologies in a webinar hosted by BRIC (Biological Research Information Center). This webinar provided an in-depth overview of innovative technologies designed to overcome the limitations of traditional MEA (Micro Electrode Array) systems and open new possibilities in neuroscience research.

Overview
MEA has become an essential research tool in the field of neuroscience. However, traditional MEA systems face technical limitations, such as restricted spatial resolution and challenges in 3D tissue recording. In this webinar, we introduced 3Brain's High-Density Microelectrode Array (HD-MEA) and 3D HD-MEA, developed to address these challenges.

HD-MEA offers significantly higher electrode density compared to conventional MEAs, enabling the simultaneous and precise recording of cellular electrical activity from multiple locations. This allows for a more accurate analysis of intercellular interactions and complex neural network activities within the nervous system.

3D HD-MEA features a unique design with electrodes protruding approximately 90μm from the base, allowing direct access to 3D tissues such as brain slices and brain organoids. This design enables the acquisition of highly reliable neural signal data from within the tissue.

During the webinar, we highlighted the technical strengths of HD-MEA and 3D HD-MEA and presented various research case studies based on published literature. Real-world applications demonstrated how these groundbreaking technologies are utilized in neuroscience research.
